How many sessions will I need?

All sessions are tailored to your individual needs and goals for therapy, so the number of sessions required varies for each individual. Many clients will benefit from just 3 or 4 sessions. Generally we recommend a complete course of treatment  to include at least  4–6 sessions, but you may wish to continue beyond this. We also offer packages for specific issues which can be booked in a block, saving you £10 per session.

How regular will the sessions with my therapist be?

Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly but this can be flexible depending on your circumstances and goals for therapy. Each session is one hour in duration.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes! We understand that some issues may inhibit you from getting to an appointment, or you may be too busy to get to a clinic, for this reason, all sessions can be held online via Zoom from the comfort of your own home.

How does the booking process work?

Complete an online enquiry form here, or drop us a message on Facebook or Insta. We’ll get back to you to arrange a free 15 minute phone consultation, or we can chat via message if you prefer! If you decide you’d like to work with Natalie, we’ll send you an online form to complete prior to your first consultation. This will allow Natalie to understand your current challenges and whether hypnotherapy is suitable for you. Once we’ve ensured that hypnotherapy is the right therapy for you, we’ll book you in for a 60min consultation and formulate a tailored treatment plan from there.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is actually a natural process that we do throughout the day without thinking about it. Everyone’s experience of hypnosis is different, but It can feel a bit like being so absorbed in a film or book, that time flies by. We are still aware of everything around us, but our minds are deeply  focused on something else. Hypnosis is just increased internal focus, allowing you to become receptive and resourceful, which encourages neuroplasticity (positive changes within your brain) This will help you make long term changes to achieve your goals.

Could I get stuck in hypnosis?

Absolutely not! You are free to come out of hypnosis whenever you wish. Hypnosis is just increased internal focus, allowing you to become receptive and resourceful, you are always in control.

Is there anyone who shouldn't have hypnotherapy?

Yes. It is not suitable for those with some conditions and disorders, such as schizophrenia, psychosis, or epilepsy. You will be asked to complete a medical history form prior to your first consultation, to ensure you are not contraindicated for hynotherapy.

Will I be able to remember the hypnotherapy?

Yes! We will be working together to make sure you fully understand everything and you can ask questions at any time. You will receive audios and resources to continue to practise your new skills at home.

Will I have to talk about traumatic experiences?

Absolutely not, unless you wish to. Hypnotherapy and various other therapeutic modalities can be used to process trauma without your therapist even being aware of the content of the traumatic experience. We will only ever discuss as much as  you are comfortable to share.

Will my therapist push me to work on areas of my life that I don’t feel ready to work on?

Absolutely not, your therapist will go through a detailed consultation with you, in order to agree upon achievable goals that you feel comfortable and aligned with.

What if I’m just overreacting? Surely there must be people with worse problems than me?

We hear this all the time, you are never overreacting by seeking therapy. Your feelings and experiences are absolutely valid. Everyone's goals for therapy are different, your experiences and challenges are relative to you and how they are impacting your quality of life.

What if I’m not clicking with my therapist, or something about the therapeutic approach isn’t working for me?

It’s important that you feel comfortable and able to share openly with your therapist. Evidence shows that the relationship between a client and their therapist is fundamental in the efficacy of the treatment. Feedback is so important and enables us to adjust the approach to suit you, however If you feel that you’re just not gelling with your therapist, we will happily refer you to a colleague; your therapeutic experience is our primary concern.

Will you make me do silly things like cluck like a chicken?

Not at all! Stage hypnosis is nothing like hypnotherapy. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and you will be in full control, just with heightened internal focus. You are free to choose which suggestions you take onboard during hypnosis. There is zero magic or mind control involved!
